FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to semicontinuous casting of ingots from aluminum alloys. Molten metal is fed into water-cooled casting mold (1) and partially immersed into molten metal in crystalliser heat-releasing device (4) for additional cooling inert to molten metal. Geometrical dimensions, depth of immersion and thermophysical properties of heat-removing device material are adjusted depending on required modes of metal crystallisation. Heat-releasing device can be a device for feeding and proportioning of metal into the casting mold with enlarged dimensions of parts of the device immersed and not submerged into molten metal.
EFFECT: enabling control of metal cooling rate and possibility of obtaining supersaturated solid solution with maximum alloying content at any casting mold sizes for aluminum processing.
