FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to improved systems and methods for retrieving medical tools from the bladder. Medical device comprises a urological device and at least one retrieval string attached to the urological device, and having a proximal end connected the urological device and an opposed distal end. At least one bioerodible component operable to maintain the at least one retrieval string in its initial confined form, in which said at least one retrieval string is wound, and/or coiled, and/or encapsulated, and/or otherwise confined in or on the urological device. After the selected time for installing the medical device in the patient's bladder, said at least one bioerodible component is degraded, providing a transition of said at least one retrieval string into a free form, in which the distal end of said at least one retrieval string, being drawn into the urethra during urination through the urethra, is stretched through the urethra, providing retrieving a medical device from the bladder, pulling the string to for retrieving. Method for methods for retrieving a urological device from a patient comprises capturing at least one retrieval string for retrieving said medical device installed in the patient's bladder; and retrieving at least one retrieval string and an attached urological device through the urethra of the patient.
EFFECT: inventions facilitate selective retrieval of installed urological devices from the patient, avoiding at the same time the disadvantages associated with well-known retrieval strings and structures.
