FIELD: protective devices.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method of protecting objects of armored vehicles and a device implementing the method. Method consists in setting the depth of the masking aerosol screen by sequentially ejecting from the hull of a grenade of aerosol-forming burning elements with masking properties in the visible range of wavelengths and ejected in the direction opposite to the grenade movement. After aerosol screen setting has been set up, the grenade body and the block of ready-for-damage elements are crushed by detonating the explosive charge of the grenade. Circular fragmentation field is formed. Device contains mortars, charged with grenades in the form of a cylindrical cup with pyrotechnic aerosol-forming equipment, pyro-retarders, propellent and expelling charges. Grenade body is made of two rigidly threaded metal cylindrical sections. In the first section closest to the propellant charge, an aerosol-forming equipment is placed, and the second section contains a block of ready-made striking elements, a charge of an explosive and a small-sized cumulative unit.
EFFECT: increased protection of armored vehicles is achieved.
