FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to butt welding of steel sheets. Two steel sheets (1) are joined to form a Y-shaped groove having open section (2) at the top and root blunting section (3) at the bottom. Two steel sheets are joined in open section (2) of the Y-groove by arc welding under a flux layer to form weld metal (4), Ti content in which is from 0.030 to 0.100 % by weight, B content is from 0.0030 to 0.0080 % by weight and the ratio [%Al]/[% O] is in the range of 0.5 to 1.2, where value [%Al] is the Al content in weight % and [%O] is the O content in weight %. Two steel sheets are joined at section (3) by dulling the root of the Y-groove weld with laser welding to form weld metal (5), so that metal (5) of the laser welded seam penetrates into weld metal (4) obtained by arc welding under the flux layer.
EFFECT: as a result, a high-quality welded seam is obtained.
