FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to magnetic flowmeters. Magnetic flowmeter (12) for measuring flow of a process fluid includes meter body (40) having an opening formed therein. Meter body is configured to be inserted in-line between process piping which carries the process fluid. Moveable extension (42, 44) is coupled to meter body (40) and configured to extend into process piping in an open position and at least partially cover said opening of the meter body in a closed position. Coil of wire (122) is carried by the extension and configured to generate a magnetic field. Pair of electrodes (124) sense an EMF in the process fluid generated as a function of the applied magnetic field and flow of the process fluid.

EFFECT: technical result is an increase in compactness and a wider field of application.
