SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a measuring equipment and can be used for the mechanical assembly shaft position non-contact determination. Absolute optical single-turn angular encoder contains n optical pairs (where n is the encoder resolution), which are uniformly distributed with angular pitch of 360/n, raster disk with one encoding track in the form of alternating transparent and opaque sectors, wherein the transparent and opaque sectors are formed by combining an accurate and rough scales.

EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the single-track encoder resolving power.
