SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means for determining the distance between the wells. In particular, there is a provided method for downhole acoustic distance determination, comprising: drilling the first wellbore; acoustic receiver arrangement in the second wellbore; radiation of acoustic waves from the first wellbore; reception of acoustic waves by an acoustic receiver and application of gradientometric data of received acoustic waves to determine the distance between the first and second well bores.
EFFECT: technical result is to improve the accuracy of determining the distance between the wells.
