FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for contact spot welding of sheets and rods. Electrode-cap is made with a conical cavity, passing into a cylindrical cavity. Front of the hollow holder has a corresponding conical surface. Refrigerant tube is installed in the cavity of the holder with a lateral clearance sealed at the front end of the holder. Holder is located in the cylindrical cavity of the electrode with lateral and axial clearances. Transverse windows in the front of the holder connect the side gap in the cavity of the holder with the cylindrical cavity of the electrode. Deformable element is placed on the bottom of the holder cavity. Conical bottom of the electrode is divided on its lateral surface into parts by slits having different depth and length. Tube is installed with an emphasis of its front end to the surface of the bottom of the cavity of the electrode, and the rear end to the deformable element.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to eliminate the stagnant zone with the refrigerant in the central part of the conical bottom of the electrode cavity.
