SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the confectionery industry. Chewy confectionery product is essentially free of texturising agents - gelatin, starch and egg albumin. Said chewy confectionery product comprises pectin in an amount of at least 0.2 wt%, 3 to 13 wt% water and 20 to 80 wt% sucrose, based on the dry substance of the confectionery product.
EFFECT: chewy product of the present invention has reduced stickiness and cold flow compared to conventional chewing products, and also provides tooth cleaning during chewing.
