FIELD: test equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and a sensor for checking a document of value, which is moved relative to the sensor. Sensor is configured to detect the luminescence of the value document simultaneously in two different spectral ranges on the same detection site. Two temporal intensity characteristics of the detected spectral regions of the first and second luminescence are evaluated relative to each other. Motion effects which distort both intensity characteristics in the same or at least very similar manner are thereby eliminated.
EFFECT: invention provides an opportunity to verify valuable documents at high transportation speeds, with increased accuracy.
