FIELD: document security.
SUBSTANCE: valuable document has at least one machine-readable substance-feature in at least two different points. According to the method at least local excitation of valuable document (S2) is performed. Then intensity (M) of the feature is recorded with spatial resolution with respect to machine-readable substance-feature in several different places of valuable document (S3a). Spatially related classification of spatially-related strengths of the feature is carried out based on the threshold value (S5). Further, spatially related boundaries of expected spatial distribution of machine-readable substance-feature (S6) are determined. Then, spatially-related distribution of classified intensities (S7) of the feature is evaluated.
EFFECT: present invention relates to a method, a sensor, a sensor device and a banknote processing machine for verification of integrity and/or authenticity of a valuable document.
