SUBSTANCE: for inspection of valuable document (1), which in direction (T) of movement is directed past control sensor (10), wherein in or on the moving in value direction (T) direction of valuable document (1) of protected area (2) there is substantially uniformly distributed luminescent mark (3), repeatedly repeating when sending valuable document (1) past control sensor (10) sequence A) scans, and performing subsequent authentication (S5). Sequence (A) of scans comprises the following: (1) irradiation (S1) at least partially overlapping protected area (2) of control area (4) of control sensor (10) with excitation radiation (L) and control radiation (P) at first radiation phase (A1), wherein the control radiation (P) is designed so that at least partially diffuse reflection from valuable document (1) in the spectral detection region of control sensor (10), and the excitation radiation (L) is calculated so as to cause emitted radiation of luminescent mark (3) in spectral detection region, (2) scanning (S2) of at least one spatially-dependent spectral characteristic (R) of diffuse reflection in reference region (4) at the first phase (A1) of irradiation, (3) irradiation (S3) of control region (4) with only excitation radiation (L) at second radiation phase (A2), and (4) scanning (S4) of at least one spatially-dependent spectral characteristic (E) of emitted radiation in reference region (4) after the first radiation phase (A1). During authentication (S5), valuable document (1) is classified as genuine or non-genuine based on scanned multiple times with spatial resolution, at least, one spatially-dependent spectral characteristic (R) of diffuse reflection, as well as repeatedly scanned with spatial resolution of at least one spatially-dependent spectral characteristic (E) of emitted radiation.
EFFECT: authentication of valuable documents is disclosed.
