SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of determining the composition of gas mixtures, including carbonaceous, and allows to make qualitative and quantitative analysis of impurities in the main gas. Technical and economic efficiency of the ionization chamber consists in a significant simplification of the construction and the work carried out with its use due to the possibility of recording Penning electrons with characteristic energies for each impurity in the gas and corresponding analysis of these impurities in the local regime. In this case, the dimensions of the ionization chamber for atmospheric pressures will be of the order of several mm, in contrast to the nonlocal regime, When the size of the ionization chamber should be of the order of a micron. By using the supply of an additional electrical impulse signal before the measurement scanning, the measuring electrode will be cleaned from the formation of various thin films, in particular carbon, which will allow to analyze carbon-containing gas mixtures.

EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the accuracy and sensitivity of qualitative and quantitative analysis of gas mixtures.
