SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of applications updating. Disclosed is a method for application updating, including receiving the applications list by the router indicating at least one application to be updated, at that, the applications list is defined by the router, or the server, or the target terminal; downloading by the router of the installation file for updating of at least one application to be updated according to the list of applications to be updated; connecting to the target terminal by the router and sending the installation file of the application to be updated to the target terminal, such that the target terminal installs the installation file; and deleting by the router of a downloaded installation file for updating of at least one application in response to the fact that the target terminal has updated at least one application, the target terminal has uninstalled at least one application, or the target terminal has installed at least one application with a version that is later than the downloaded installation file version; wherein the method further includes: reception of defined by the router several application lists by the router, the server and the target terminal including the specified application list indicating at least one application; and determining by the router whether to download the installation file to update at least one application based on the router's comparison of applications in several application lists.

EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the speed of application updates and enabling the possibility to avoid network overloading due to the centralized downloading of installation files.
