SUBSTANCE: updating method for the operating system comprises of the stages at which the system receives update files corresponding to the plurality of update versions, which are newer than the current version, one update version, closest to the current version, is selected as a master version and the current version is updated to the master one using an update file that corresponds to the master version, and on the basis of the master version an update version, which is the closest to the master version, is chosen as the next master version and is updated to the next master version until an update to the target version is done. The target version is the latest version of multiple update versions, and reception of update files corresponding to multiple update versions which are newer than the current version, includes the stages at which separately the update file, associated with each version, is received or all update files are compressed into a single package and then all the update files are obtained at once using one package.
