FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing N-benzyl [1-(dodecinoylamino)-3-(dimethylamino)]propane ammonium chloride monohydrate of formula (I), which is a disinfectant and antiseptic with a wide range of action. Method comprises reacting 1-(dodecinoylamino)-3-(dimethylamino)propane and benzyl chloride in an organic solvent by boiling, followed by isolation of the desired product. Organic solvent used is acetonitrile, boiling is carried out for 5 hours, and the desired product is isolated by distilling off acetonitrile from the reaction mixture in a vacuum, followed by addition of an aliphatic ester to the resulting dry residue, with stirring, followed by repetition of this procedure twice, filtering the resulting residue, drying said residue and obtaining the desired product as a solid substance.
I.
EFFECT: proposed method improves the purity of the desired product.
