CIRCULAR STAPLER WITH SELECTABLE MOTORISED AND MANUAL CONTROL, INCLUDING CONTROL RING Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61B17/115

Abstract RU 2653993 C2

FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, specifically a circular stapling tool with selectable motorised and manual control, including a control ring. Apparatus for stapling tissue comprises a stapling head assembly, a rotary drive shaft, and a body assembly. Stapling head assembly comprises a closure assembly and a firing assembly. Closure assembly is operable to clamp tissue against an anvil. Firing assembly is operable to drive at least one staple through tissue toward the anvil. Rotary drive shaft is in communication with the stapling head assembly. Body assembly is connected to the rotary drive shaft. Body assembly includes a mode selector, which is operable to select between a tissue clamping mode and a firing mode. Rotary drive shaft is operable to actuate the closure assembly in response to selection of the tissue clamping mode, wherein the rotary drive shaft is operable to actuate the firing assembly in response to selection of the firing mode. In a second embodiment, the tissue stapling device comprises a stapling head assembly, a rotary drive shaft and a body connected to the rotary drive shaft. Stapling head assembly is selectively operable in tissue clamping mode or in tissue stapling mode. Stapling head assembly is operable to actuate the anvil, so as to clamp tissue in a tissue clamping mode, wherein the stapling head assembly is operable to staple tissue in a tissue stapling mode. Rotary drive shaft is operable to actuate the stapling head assembly in a tissue clamping mode, wherein the rotary drive shaft is further operable to actuate the stapling head assembly in tissue stapling mode. Body comprises a shaft rotation feature and a shaft translation feature. Shaft rotation feature is operable to rotate the rotary drive shaft. Shaft translation feature is operable to translate the rotary drive shaft between a first longitudinal position and a second longitudinal position. Rotary drive shaft is operable to drive the stapling head assembly in the tissue clamping mode in response to the rotary drive shaft being in the first longitudinal position. Rotary drive shaft is operable to drive the stapling head assembly in the tissue stapling mode in response to the rotary drive shaft being in the second longitudinal position. In a third embodiment, the tissue stapling device comprises a stapling head assembly, a drive assembly, mode selector, feedback feature and manual operation selector. Stapling head assembly is selectively operable in a tissue clamping mode or a tissue stapling mode. Drive assembly comprises a motor and a rotary drive shaft, wherein the drive assembly is operable to drive the stapling head assembly in the tissue stapling mode. Drive assembly is further operable to drive the stapling head assembly in tissue stapling mode. Mode selector is operable to transition the stapling head assembly between the tissue clamping mode and the tissue stapling mode. Feedback feature is operable to provide an indication of mode selection by the mode selector. Manual operation selector is operable to selectively disengage the motor from the rotary drive shaft to provide manual rotation of the rotary drive shaft.

EFFECT: inventions allow for adjustment, placement, attachment and/or other interaction with tissue inside a patient.
