FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, in particular to methods for explosive compacting axisymmetric powdered materials. Powdered material is placed in an axisymmetric container with plugs at its ends, and a detonating cord is wound onto the side surface of the container. Container is placed in an explosive chamber containing air at atmospheric pressure, and explosively compacted with a detonation wave propagating along a spiral around the container by initiating the detonating cord at one end thereof.
EFFECT: strength and homogeneity of the structure of the resulting product is increased.
