SUBSTANCE: invention relates to inorganic chemistry and can be used in the development of composite solid rocket fuels (TRT), an oxidizer of liquid rocket fuels. Nitronium tetranitrate borate has the chemical formula NO2[B(NO3)4]. To obtain nitronium tetranitrate borate, boric acid is reacted with N2O5 at a temperature of -10 to 5 °C. Process is carried out at a molar ratio of boric acid:N2O5 1:(4–6) using nitric acid and/or an inert solvent, which is used as methylene chloride.

EFFECT: invention allows to obtain a new compound, nitronium tetranitrate borate, which significantly exceeds the oxygen balance of an oxidizing agent such as the ammonium salt of dinitrazoic acid (ADN), does not contain halogens, and has a high thermal stability.
