FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a technology for the preparation of tin salts and can be used in various fields of the chemical industry, in scientific research and analytical control. Method for the preparation of tin nitrate (IV) consists in the direct reaction of tin oxide (IV) with nitric acid in a solution of ethyl cellosolve in a bead mill with a glass bead as a milling agent at room temperature. According to the method, 0.05–0.5 mol/kg of tin dioxide is contacted with 0.63–2.05 mol/kg of nitric acid solution in ethyl cellosolve, which is prepared by dissolving 54 % nitric acid in ethyl cellosolve preliminarily or directly in the reactor before the introduction of tin oxide (IV), at an acid:oxide molar ratio of 4.0:12.5. Process is carried out both in the absence and in the presence of a tribochemical catalyst, with intensive mechanical stirring and control over the consumption of the acid. At the end of the process, mixing is stopped, the grinding agent is separated from the slurry of the reaction mixture, the latter is filtered, the precipitate is washed and dried.

EFFECT: practically complete consumption of the tin reagent is ensured, and target product selectivity tends to 1.
