AMINO ALDEHYDE RESINS AND THEIR USE IN SEPARATION METHODS Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC B03D1/02 C02F1/52 B01D43/00 C10C3/00

Abstract RU 2397026 C2

FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to resins for use in separation methods and especially in selective separation of solid substances and/or ion particles, such as metal cations, from water media. Method for removal of admixtures from bitumen-containing slurry includes delivery of bitumen-containing slurry, including bitumen, water and at least one admixture, aeration of bitumen-containing slurry, contact of aerated bitumen-containing slurry with amino aldehyde resin, to produce lower and upper fractions and foam, and then lower fraction is separated from medium fraction and foam. Method for dehydration of coal-containing slurry includes delivery of coal-containing slurry, including coal and water, contact of coal-containing slurry with dispersion of aminoformaldehyde resin produced by interaction of urea and formaldehyde at mole ratio of formaldehyde to urea between 1.75:1 and 3:1, besides aminoformaldehyde resin has value of number-average molecular mass between 400 and 1200 g/mole, therefore coal is separated from slurry, and then separated coal is dehydrated by filtration, deposition or drying. Method for removal of admixtures from water includes delivery of contaminated water, including admixtures, such as solid particles, metal cations or their combinations, contact of contaminated water with dispersion of aminoformaldehyde resin produced by interaction of urea and formaldehyde at mole ratio of formaldehyde to urea between 1.75:1 and 3:1, besides aminoformaldehyde resin has value of number-average molecular mass between 400 and 1200 g/mole, therefore admixtures are settled from contaminated water to produce purified water having lower concentration of admixtures compared to contaminated water, and further admixtures are separated from purified water. Method for treatment of clay from ore, which contains clay as the main component, includes delivery of slurry from clay-containing ore and water, contact of slurry with amino aldehyde resin, during or after contact stage, separation of clay from slurry by means of foam floatation of specified one or more admixtures, withdrawal and cleaning of clay having reduced content of specified admixtures. Moreover, amino aldehyde resin includes aminoformaldehyde resin having concentration of free formaldehyde in resin less than approximately 1%.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of solid substances or ion particles from admixtures.
