FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: brake leverage of the railway freight car contains a two-arm lever, which is pivotally connected to the brake cylinder rod with one end, and to the brake leverage auto-regulator with the drive and the dead lever guide with the other end. The axis of the dead point of the guide rod connection to the car frame is located at an equal distance from the axes of the lever holes intended for connection with the guide rod when installing cast-iron or composite brake pads. The dead point of the guide rod connection to the frame can be located with respect to the longitudinal axis of the lever from either side of it on the axis perpendicular to the line connecting the holes for connecting the lever to the dead point.
EFFECT: reducing the labour intensity of manufacturing brake leverage, material consumption and operating costs when changing the brake pads made of one material to the brake pads made of another material.
