FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended to determine the component composition and dynamics of hydrocarbon generation in the catagenesis of oil and gas rocks. Essence of the invention consists in the following: samples of sedimentary rocks are sampled in the investigated geological structures. Measure the parameters of generation of hydrocarbon components of a set of samples, using the technology of pyrolytic gas chromatography. Process, analyze and interpret the measurement data in order to make judgments about the petroleum potential of the geological structures under study.
EFFECT: technical result: expanded functionality, increased information content, reliability and detail of forecasting of oil and gas potential of geological structures.
