FIELD: mining.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of forecasting oil and gas content of territories and water areas based on modelling hydrocarbon (HC) systems for prospecting and exploration of oil and gas deposits. Method of determining compositional kinetic spectrum of reactions of conversion of organic matter of rocks includes the following stages: 1) sampling of catagenetically transformed sedimentary rocks; 2) determination of oil and gas generation potential of rocks, using Rock-Eval technology, and selection of potentially oil and gas source rocks for kinetic studies; 3) preparation of samples for kinetic studies, their debituminization with chloroform; 4) pyrolysis of oil and gas source rocks at several heating rates and calculation of their kinetic parameters based on the optimization procedure; 5) for determination of component composition of pyrolysis products of oil source rocks, analysis of selected rock samples by pyrolytic gas chromatography with possibility of multistage pyrolysis and programming of column thermostat from -10/-50 to 310 °C and detection of released hydrocarbons with number of carbon atoms from C1 to C40 at each temperature step in temperature range from 300 to 760 °C with pitch of  20 °C; 6) processing of measurement data and construction of multicomponent kinetic spectra of reactions of rock OM conversion based on solving a system of equations determining hydrocarbon yield from a rock sample, taking into account data of pyrolysis on apparatus of Rock-Eval type, optimization results and pyrolytic chromatography.

EFFECT: increased reliability of quantitative prediction of oil and gas content of territories/water areas and local oil and gas promising objects.
