FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to production process of 2-(fluoromethoxy)-1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoroisopropane (sevoflurane), which is an inhalational anesthetic. Process consists in hydrofluorination of 2-(chloromethoxy)-1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoroisopropane (sevochlorane), which is performed with hydrofluoride in the presence of dimethylformamide at a temperature of 60–120 °C.
EFFECT: process according to the invention makes it possible to obtain the desired product in high yield, selectivity and a minimum amount of impurities using simple technology.
