SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of agriculture and in particular to plant growth regulators and can be used to regulate the growth of species of the genus Rhododendron L. Use as growth promoters for species of the genus Rhododendron L. compounds of a number of pyrimidine carboxylic acids includes the use for seed treatment one of the connections: 4-methyl-2-piperidin-1-yl-pyrimidine-5-carboxylic acid, or 2-benzylamino-4-methylpyrimidine-5-carboxylic acid, or 4-methyl-2-morpholinin-4-pyrimidine-5-carboxylic acid in a concentration of 0.01–0.1 %.

EFFECT: proposed method for controlling the growth of species of the genus Rhododendron L provides the stimulation of growth of woody plants of the genus Rhododendron L by 13–48 %.
