FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture, namely to plant growth regulators, and can be used to regulate the annual growth of salvia shiny. Use of the brilliant compounds of a series of pyrimidine carboxylic acids as growth regulators of annual salvia is the application of one of the compounds for the treatment of seeds: 4-methyl-2-piperidin-1-yl-pyrimidine-5-carboxylic acid in a concentration of 0.01–0.1 % or 4-methyl-2-morpholinin-4-pyrimidine-5-carboxylic acid in a concentration of 0.01–0.05 % as an inhibitor of growth of salvia shiny (Salvia splendens Ker Gawl.).
EFFECT: proposed method for regulating growth consists in an inhibitory effect on an annual ornamental herbaceous plant with a shiny salvia and a decrease in its height by 13–43 %.
