SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the application of an insulating coating to the textured electrotechnical sheet steel. Variants ontreatment solution for applying the chromium-free insulation coating containing one or more compounds, which are selected from phosphates, Mg, Ca, Ba, Sr, Zn, Al or phosphate Mn, as well as colloidal silicon dioxide in the amount of 50–120 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of phosphate in terms of SiO2 dry matter and the water-soluble metal salt Mg, Ca, Ba, Sr, Zn, Al and Mn in such an amount as to correct the molar ratio between M2+ (= Mg, Ca, Ba, Sr, Zn, Mn) and/or M3+ (=Al) and P within the limits 0.6≤(M2++1.5×M3+)/P≤1.0. Metal salt in solutions represents one or several compounds of nitrates, acetates or chlorides. Solution may contain Ti in an amount of 25 pts. wt. or less in terms of TiO2. TiO2 ash is used as the Ti source, and in the TiO2 ash the content of titanium phosphate in the amount of 0.1–50 % is contained in terms of dry matter relative to TiO2.
