FIELD: devices for spraying liquids.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrostatic atomizer of coating material with external charge. Electrostatic atomizer comprises a bowl able to rotate around an axis of rotation, means for rotating the bowl around this axis. Atomizer also comprises a plurality of first electrodes distributed around the axis of rotation and each capable of emitting, when the sprayer is operating and is at least partly in the direction on an object to be coated, a first ion flux from first point. First points are arranged in a first circle centered on and perpendicular to the axis of rotation. Atomizer comprises second electrodes configured to emit, each, during operation of the atomizer and mainly or exclusively in the direction of the bowl edge a second ion stream with the same sign as ions of the first ion streams from the second ends inscribed in the second circle with the center on the axis of rotation perpendicular to this axis and having a radius different from the radius of the first circle. Each second point is located in radial plane of the axis of rotation, in dihedron having origin on axis extending rearwards from a first electrode, with apex angle equal to 90 °, and which is centered along axis directed to the edge of the bowl. Spray coating apparatus of the coating material comprises at least one atomizer according to one of the preceding claims.

EFFECT: ensuring the possibility of less susceptibility to influence of external phenomena, both aero-static and electrostatic, and reducing exposure of electrodes to contamination.
