FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to drum (1) for assembling tires and a method for shaping the tire components located on this drum. Tire assembly drum comprises annular sleeve (6) extending above lifting rods (4) in the longitudinal direction of these rods, sleeve (6) is elastic in the circumferential direction and, circumferentially and with elasticity, abuts to lifting rods (4), hose (6) is provided with inelastic reinforcement elements (7), passing through at least a portion of this sleeve in the reinforcement direction transverse to the circumferential direction in the tire assembly drum, and sleeve (6) has fixed end (61) which is held in an unchanged position when viewed in the axial direction, and movable end (62) which is movable along lifting rods (4) in their respective longitudinal directions.

EFFECT: invention provides a reduction in friction between the sleeve and the frame members, reducing the unwanted or uneven deformation of the frame members.
