FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention provides a single-string light bar with an overpower protection device and a light source driving circuit in a display. Overpower protection device comprises: voltage detecting unit, the input terminal of which is connected to two terminals of a resistor in a single-string light bar circuit to obtain voltages on the resistor; integrating unit the input terminal of which is connected to the output terminal of the voltage detecting unit for performing integral transformation on the obtained voltages; comparing unit which is connected to the output terminal of the integrating unit for comparing the voltages resulting from integral transformation with a reference voltage, determined by a system parameters in order to output a valid over-voltage signal, in case that the voltages resulting from integral transformation are higher than the reference voltage; locking unit connected to the comparing unit for locking an output standby signal according to the valid over-voltage signal.

EFFECT: technical result is preventing an overheat arising from the excessively high current and damage of the entire backlight module.
