SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of liquid crystal displays. Liquid crystal device includes a four-color converter, a data driver, a scan driver, and a display panel. Data driver generates simulated data signals from the RGBW information. Scan driver sequentially generates scanning signals. Display panel displays colors in accordance with simulated data signals and scanning signals. Four-color converter converts the original RGB information to a gray level value for each color to apply the white balance process to them, determine the maximum and minimum value after balancing. Converter calculates the second values of the gray level in accordance with the two chrominance values, converts the minimum value of the gray level into a white gray level output value for display in the RGBW information structure, and calculates the output values of the gray level for red, green, and blue in the RGBW information structure.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of the output values of the gray level for each color and obtained possibility to maintain the proportions of the first and second chrominance values when the gray level value is low.
