FIELD: radar ranging and radio navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radar ranging. Above result in the first embodiment is achieved by the fact that in the method for tracking the target by the surveillance radar station, which consists in detecting a target, the development of the tracking gate and inspection of it in the next period using a sequence of two or more pulses, while setting sequence parameters ensure unambiguous determination of the range to the target within the tracking gate. Above result in the second embodiment is achieved by the fact that in the method for tracking the target by the surveillance radar station, which consists in detecting a target, the development of the tracking gate and inspection of it in the next period for inspection, while using extended ones within the permissible dead zone, defined by the distance to the gate, broadband signals with speed resolution.
EFFECT: reduction in the time spent examining the direction while tracking the target under the influence of passive interference.
