FIELD: instrument engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the design of a surge arrester for a tank switch. Circuit breaker has a pole assembly with a first electrical terminal disposed in the first insulating sleeve, and a second electrical terminal disposed in the second insulating sleeve. First terminal is electrically connected to the fixed contact, and the second terminal is electrically connected to the movable contact. Design of a surge arrester includes a surge arrester, which has the first and second opposite ends. Design of the first conductor electrically and mechanically connects the first end of the surge arrester to the end of the first terminal. Design of the second conductor electrically and mechanically connects the second end of the surge arrester to the end of the second terminal. Impulse discharger is electrically connected in parallel with respect to the fixed and movable contacts, so that the surge arrester can limit the transient overvoltage occurring on the contacts when the contacts are open.
EFFECT: technical result is to prevent a malfunction of the circuit breaker.
