FIELD: electricity; instrument making.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electron-optical instrument making and concerns an electron-optical converter with an auto-photo-cathode. Electron-optical converter includes: vacuum-processed flask, aperture, transparent in the infrared region of the spectrum, photocathode located on the inner surface of the aperture, microchannel amplifier and a two-dimensional electronic image recording device. Cathode is an autoemission photocathode made in planar technology in the form of a matrix pyroelectric layer of discrete elements on which field emission emitters are made based on carbon nanostructured materials. Pre-threshold autoemission field is provided in the cathode-microchannel amplifier gap by the voltage of the power source, and control of the electron emission flux of the cathode is carried out by the pyroelectric layer due to the additional field created by the spatial distribution of potentials on this layer when the temperature of the pyroelectric material changes as a result of absorption of the infrared input radiation.
EFFECT: technical result consists in expanded long-wavelength boundary of the spectral range and increased sensitivity of the device.
