FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: laboratory automation system comprises a pair of conveyor belts (4) accommodating devices (5) for conveying biological samples and actuated by motorised traction device (100), which includes first and second motors (111a, 111b). Each of motors (111a, 111b) is adapted to actuate both said pairs of belts (4). Central control unit (50) is adapted to control simultaneous or alternating actuation of said motors (111a, 111b), able to discriminate the occurrence of a faulty operation of first motor (111a) and to automatically switch the task of feeding the pairs of belts to second motor (111b) in case of such failure or if given threshold values are exceeded for some specific parameters of the motor. Central control unit (50) processes data and information relating to said given parameters for a period of time, determines which conditions in the past most often caused the final failure of motors (111a, 111b), thus updating the threshold values.
EFFECT: ensuring continuous operation of the system.
