FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a hydrocarbon conversion plant, as well as to a method of operating a hydrocarbon conversion plant. Proposed plant comprises a steam reforming unit, an additional steam reforming unit equipped with a heat exchange circuit and a converter for catalytic conversion of hydrocarbons configured to supply air and converted gas thereto. In addition, the plant comprises a line for supplying a steam-gas mixture flow, which enables to divide the steam-gas mixture flow into the main steam-gas mixture flow, which is supplied to steam reforming unit, and additional flow of steam-gas mixture, which is supplied to additional steam reforming unit. At the same time the line for supply of steam-gas mixture flow makes it possible to divide flow of steam-gas mixture so that ratio of volumetric flow rate of main flow of steam-gas mixture to volumetric flow rate of additional flow of steam-gas mixture is from 90:10 to 81:19. In the disclosed plant, the steam reforming apparatus and the additional steam reforming apparatus are configured to supply the converted gas to the converter for catalytic conversion of hydrocarbons, and the converter for catalytic conversion of hydrocarbons is configured to discharge at least a portion of the stream of converted gas into the heat exchange circuit of the additional steam reforming apparatus.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of installation, as well as service life of equipment, reduced requirements for used equipment, flexibility of adjustment of operation of installation, simplification of the process scheme at maintaining high degree of methane conversion, as well as reduction of hydraulic losses along the natural gas reforming path.
