FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing high-density jet fuel. Method for producing high-density jet fuel for supersonic aviation is carried out by hydrogenating fractions of coal tar at elevated temperatures and pressure in the presence of hydrogen and a catalyst that is tungsten sulfide WS2, promoted by nickel sulphide NiS and supported on aluminum oxide. Method is characterized in that sorption oil of coal tar is used as coal tar fractions, hydrogenation and hydrodesulfurization are carried out in one stage in a single reactor at a temperature of 340–365 °C at a feed rate of 0.25–0.5 h-1, and said catalyst is prepared by sulphurating with 1 % solution of dimethyl disulphide in a straight run diesel fraction at a temperature of 340–390 °C and a hydrogen pressure of 3–8 MPa to obtain the following catalyst composition after sulphurating, % by mass: nickel 12.0–22.0; tungsten 20.0–25.5; sulphur 15.0–21.0; alumina – balance, wherein the ratio of NiS:WS2 is (1.8–2.4):1.0.

EFFECT: reduced aromatics in fuel, increased depth of desulfurization of produced fuel, increased density of a fuel fraction and decreased temperature of crystallization thereof, and the method is also cost-effective due to reduced production costs of produced fuel by carrying out it in one stage with obtaining the end result.
