FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technology of inorganic substances, namely to scandium hydrometallurgy. Method for separating scandium and associate metals consists in treating a scandium-containing solution with sulfuric acid in the presence of a salt containing ammonium ions, when heated, followed by filtration of the obtained precipitation, its washing with ethyl alcohol and drying. Treatment is carried out with sulfuric acid at a concentration of 350–500 g/dm3, in the presence of a salt containing ammonium ions in an amount of 1.5–2.0 mol/dm3. Ammonium sulfate or ammonium acetate is used as a salt containing ammonium salts.
EFFECT: it is possible to precipitate scandium from solutions with a low scandium content with a high degree of scandium extraction into the precipitate, with simultaneous separation of scandium from metal impurities.
