FIELD: biology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to laboratory equipment, namely to means for carrying out thermocycling reactions in molecular biology. Thermal cycling system for carrying out the polymerase chain reaction contains the means for heating and cooling the holder of the test samples placed in the housing, heat exchanger and connected to the controller, a temperature sensor and a circulation pump for the coolant. Body is in the form of a cylindrical element having a base, a lateral cylindrical wall and an upper panel for holding the holder of the test samples. Heating means of the sample holder is made in the form of a flat electric heating element mounted on the top panel so that its working surface is made to be in thermal contact with the sample holder, and the rear – facing the coolant. Cooling means is made in the form of a jet sprinkler in the form of a cup with a supporting flange along the open edge. In the bottom of the glass along the longitudinal axis there is a branch pipe with a nozzle for supplying irrigation water. In the side surface of the nozzle there is a water drainage pipe connected to the heat exchanger inlet. Moreover the outlet of the heat exchanger and the branch pipe of the irrigating water are connected to the pump.
EFFECT: simplifying design of the device and reducing the inertia of regulation by direct irrigation of the heater with water from the cooling system while reducing the amount of electricity consumed and reducing the size of the system.
