FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to veterinary virology and biotechnology and concerns a new strain of the foot and mouth disease virus Aphtae epizooticae type O family Picornaviridae, of the genus Aphtovirus, deposited in the collection of strains of microorganisms of the FGBI “ARRIAH” under the registration number of the strain VYa O No. 2311/Zabaikalsky/2016 (production), (control cattle – K-KRS), (control pig – K-SV). Presented strain is reproduced in a monolayer culture of pig kidney cells (SP), transplantable cultures of kidney cells of Siberian mountain ibex (PSGK-30), pig kidney (IBRS-2) and Syrian hamster kidney (VNK-21). At high multiplicity of infection (1–10 TCD/cell) causes CPD after 5 hours, maintaining the original characteristics when passaging in cell cultures for 3 passages.
EFFECT: presented strain can be used to control antigenic activity of the anti-feline vaccines and for the manufacture of biologics for the diagnosis and specific prevention of foot and mouth disease of the type O.
