FIELD: electrical communication equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication equipment and is intended for the dynamic range control. Dynamic range control (DRC) can not be simply applied to signals based on higher-order ambiophony (HOA). DRC for the HOA signal performance method comprises the HOA signal conversion into the spatial domain, the converted HOA signal analysis and production, from the said analysis results, of the gain factors, which are applicable to the dynamic compression. Gain factors can be transmitted together with the HOA signal. With the DRC application, the HOA signal is converted into the spatial domain, the gain factors are extracted and multiplied by the converted HOA signal in the spatial domain, at that, the converted HOA signal with gain compensation is produced. Converted HOA signal with gain compensation is converted back to the HOA domain, at that the HOA signal with gain compensation is produced.
EFFECT: technical result is reduction in the audio signal dynamic range.
