FIELD: heat exchange; manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to structural elements of pipelines with heat insulation in protective shell. Metal plug is intended for installation on end pipeline element to prevent heat insulation output during its polymerisation, as well as for protection of pipe heat-insulating layer or shaped article from dampening and mechanical damages. Metal plug consists of shell 1 and cover 2 connected to it. Cover 2 is made with two bends, with flanging 3 along central axial orifice and fold-flanging 4 along external edge of cover in opposite direction towards shell 1. Cover 2 at flanging 4 is connected with shell 1 by overlapping welded or soldered seam 5. Cylindrical shell is made of sheet material by its lengthwise jointing by bending with folded seam 6. Differently directed bends of cover are made with length of necks of 5÷30 mm.
EFFECT: cover is made with two differently directed bends in combination with folded seam connection of shell provides high rigidity and tightness of shell, increases corrosion resistance and thus increases durability of structure.
