FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the glass industry. Melting of charge granules 4 is carried out when fed into plasma torch 1 perpendicularly and parallel to the axis of plasma flame 9. Supply of melt 5 to the water is carried out by off-gas forming gases 10 at a working power of plasma torch 12–15 kW and the flow rate of plasma-forming gas is 1.8–2.0 m3/hour.
EFFECT: invention provides a reduction in energy intensity, acceleration of the technological process due to a reduction in the melting time of the charge and simplification of the hardware design, as well as reducing the cost of the process of producing silicate blocks.
