FIELD: construction materials.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method of producing anorthite from quartz, boehmite and limestone by plasma melting. Raw materials in ratio of 19 wt.% of limestone, 46 wt.% of boehmite and 35 wt.% of quartz sand are preliminarily dried, crushed, mixed and mixed with 5% aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol. Then the component mixture is granulated to 5±1.5 mm and dried. Obtained granules in amount of 6±2 g in a graphite crucible are placed under the nozzle of the plasmatron of the plasma installation and melted under the action of a plasma jet at temperature of 9,550 °C for 45 s. After that plasmatron is switched off, and obtained melt is cooled to room temperature.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain anorthite in the amorphous and crystalline phase while reducing power consumption and increasing efficiency of the process.
