FIELD: municipal engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of municipal services and can be used to remove snow from streets. Said method for melting snow involves loading snow into melting vessel 1, draining defrost water into accumulator 4, and re-feeding its part under pressure to melting chamber 1. During the loading of snow, dry calcium chloride in the amount of 3–5 % of the snow is added. Wherein a 10–40 % solution of calcium chloride is placed in accumulator 4, a solution of calcium chloride in the defrost water is collected into same accumulator 4. Solution for re-feeding into melting vessel 1 is taken from the lower part of accumulator 4, and the solution from its upper part is drained to the sewage.
EFFECT: invention provides reduced energy costs for melting snow and reducing environmental pollution.
