FIELD: power engineering; connecting clamps for overhead power transmission lines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed clamp characterized in high mechanical strength complying with standard characteristics (it is capable of taking load equal to 90 - 95% of wire breaking capacity) has connector in the form of steel bushing, conducting spiral in the form of spiral aluminum wires, and locking protector. Steel cores of wires being interconnected are compressed by means of steel bushing; conducting spiral and locking protector are wound on bushing. Length of bushing being compressed is chosen between 5.5 and 15 d, where d is diameter of steel section of wires being interconnected; length of conducting spiral and that of power spiral are chosen between 45 and 120 Dw, where Dw is diameter of wires being interconnected.
EFFECT: reduced size and cost due to reduced input of high-cost materials (steel, aluminum, and aluminum alloys).
