FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fiber optic technology, namely to adapters for sealed passage of optical fibers through a partition. Above fiber-optic adapter contains a metal housing sealed in the wall, made of a composite of two threaded parts. Each of the parts is provided with pass-through stepped holes for optical fibers. On the mounting surface of both parts of the housing, arranged with the formation of an internal cavity between them, grooves are made for the installation of sealing rings in them. And the place where the parts join is fixed from the outside with a union nut. Into the internal cavity two partitions are introduced, they are installed coaxially, resting on each other and the parts of the housing. Each of the partitions has openings for passage of optical fibers that are coaxial to the holes of the corresponding part of the housing, and a recess on the end that forms a single glue-filled cavity with the holes of the corresponding part of the housing. Each opening of each part of the housing is, on a part of the length, from the entrance and exit of the fibers, commensurate with the diameter of the optical fiber. Wherein the holes in the partitions from the side of the inner cavity are sealed. In each of the parts of the housing, a channel for glue is made, communicating with the recess of the corresponding septum.
EFFECT: increased operational reliability of the device and expanded field of application.
