FIBRE-OPTIC PENETRATION Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC G02B6/44

Abstract RU 2781766 C1

FIELD: communication.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fibre-optic communication lines and can be used to ensure the airtight passage of fibre-optic cables through walls into a contaminated area; in particular, into the inner space of a sealed underground structure intended for explosion-based experiments. Claimed fibre-optic penetration comprises a body with at least one optical fibre passing through said body from the side of high pressure to the side of low pressure, free of outer braid, and placed in a sealing material. The length of each fibre is multiple times greater than the inner length of the body. Each optical fibre has at least one section free of polymer coating, embedded in a tube mate of a thermosetting material with a hole for injecting the sealing material into the tube, wherein an elastic compound glue is used as said sealing material. A chamber is placed in the body in the area of exit of the fibres, through a closed compound-free cavity whereof the fibres transit; wherein the cavity is in communication with the high-pressure main via a fitting placed on the wall of the body.

EFFECT: increase in the operating reliability of the fibre-optic penetration with the possibility of monitoring the longitudinal air-tightness of the apparatus both during the manufacture and during operation in settings of explosion-based experiments in underground protective structures.
