SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication. Upon receipt by the user equipment (UE) of the control signal from the base station on the resources of the first narrowband domain, the UE identifies the second narrowband area based on the control signal. In some cases the broadband carrier can be divided into an indexed set of narrowband areas, and UE may identify the index using the information contained in the control signal. UE may communicate with the base station on the resources of the second narrowband domain. For example UE may receive a System Information Unit (SIB) or a paging message and perform a random access procedure using narrowband resources selected based on the SIB or paging message.
EFFECT: increasing effectiveness of narrowband communication.
